Movie Reviews with halochief996: Wrath of the Titans

Whats up. I know I missed a week in my blog series. I've been very busy. This past week I had 2 tests, a whole bunch of homework, and on top of that, I had to spend a whole day building a part of a robot by myself (my group lets just say was busy).

Anyway Yeah college life. I like the parties and being able to do whatever I want, but I hate the school work that comes with it. Oh well I have a couple of more weeks before summer vacation. But yeah I bet all the teachers are going to pile it on. ITS ON NOW

Anyway I was supposed to post this review 2 weeks ago, but yeah college life got in the way. But here it is. And if you have already seen the movie, well sorry I got this to you late.

Wrath of the Titans

Remember Clash of the Titans from 2010. Yeah I kind of remember it. It was an OK movie. I mean the special effects were cool in my opinion. But other than that the movie had nothing else that was good. Sam Worthington though I think is a pretty good actor. Just needs more action roles. Or a better movie writer than whoever made this movie Wrath of the Titans

Plot: The story of Wrath of the Titans takes place after the events of the first film. Perseus (Sam Worthington) has a son, and lives his life as a simple fisherman, hoping he doesn't get tangled into anymore messes dealing with Gods and titans. Anyway the gods are losing their powers and the prison at tartarus that holds the titans and the all powerful god Kronus (Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon's father), is failing. On top of that Zeus is captured by his brother Hades and his son Ares and his powers are being stripped from him making Kronus stronger and able to break free from Tartarus. Its up to Perseus to save his father Zeus, and prevent Kronus from wiping out humanity (end of the world). The movie takes different parts of Greek mythology and makes it so Hollywood-esque, that its not even Greek mythology anymore. On top of that its not a brilliant or clever story. I've read a lot of greek mythology stories, and some of the stuff that occurs in the movie, I know wouldn't happen based on the greek myths I've read. I feel like this movie destroys the stories of Greek mythology.

Genre: Its an action/adventure/fantasy movie. One thing the movie does a great job with, is the special effects and the action scenes when they come on. I didn't watch it in 3D but I'm sure it would look pretty good in 3D or maybe it may hurt your eyes. IDK I prefer not to watch my movies in 3D. Anyway the acting is mediocre at best. The Greek warriors are almost like the Spartans from 300 except they are actually wearing armor. The creatures are really cool looking. And Kronus looks pretty badass. Also Liam Neeson does a pretty good job being Zeus. Sam Worthington and the beautiful Rosamund Pike play the roles to the best of their abilities. Too bad the only great special effects come on at the last 20 minutes of the film.

Overall If you are looking for a movie with a good story. Skip this film. If you want some cool special effects and some descent action scenes, get this film when it hits the bargain bin. In my opinion this movie doesn't really live up to expectations. As far as sequels go, Wrath of the Titans is the same as Clash of the Titans. Same idea, same bad story, and same extraordinary special effects.
