You know that feeling you get when you know you did good on a test but then you get the results and its not the grade you expected. Yeah I'm getting that feeling a lot, and this semester is almost over, and I really want to get good grades. FML. Oh well I guess we all have good and bad days. God dang this semester of college has been hell. My GPA I bet is going to go down. Whatever, as long as it is above a 3, I'm happy. moving on.
The Raid Redemption
When I heard about this movie, I thought it was some horror movie. But then I saw the trailer and it got me interested. I haven't seen a good action martial arts film since Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. This movie is one hell of a joyride.
Plot: In Indonesia, in the city of Jakarta, there is an apartment building ruled by a criminal boss that loans the rooms to his apartment to killers, gang members, assassins, and any other criminal bad guy you can think of. 20 cops attempt a raid on this dangerous building and take down the criminal boss once and for all. However things get out of control when there cover is blown. Now the criminal boss has unleashed all the criminals that live in his apartment. And lets just say they don't like cops. Its up to these 20 cops to survive and make it to the top of the apartment building and take out the criminal boss. Its the only way they can survive against the waves of vicious criminals. An interesting story that makes sense and has some twists. A good story for the great amounts of action this film has.
Genre: Like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, its an action film with martial arts and guns. There a few gunfights but not a lot. The good action scenes are the martial arts scenes. I mean there are some big badass moments. The punches, kicks, and slams are choreographed really well. The acting is not Oscar worthy, but good enough to really care a little bit. Also this movie is in another language, but there are English subtitles.
Overall: An awesome action movie. You have to see this film. If you are really into martial art, action films. You cannot go wrong with this one. An enjoyable thrill ride with plenty of action to entertain you.
