Movie Reviews with halochief996: Act of Valor

Whats up everybody. Man I've been busy. But I'm happy. I'm enjoying my PSVita

and Syndicate

Anyway lets get on with this blog shall we.

Act of Valor

One of my favorite movie genres is War Films. In fact my two favorite movies of all time are Saving Private Ryan and Platoon (along withWe Were Soldiers, Band of Brothers, and The Pacific). Anyway when I saw the trailer for this film, I was pretty pumped and excited. So I decided after all my hard work I would go see this movie at midnight opening. It was worth it.

Plot: The plot is simple. There is a terrorist group out there working in Eastern Europe and in Asia causing destruction and bloodshed. One of the most horrific scenes in the movie, is the of bombing an international school in the Philippines killing many kids and the US ambassador to the Philippines. The terrorist group is led by a radical named Shabal, and he is planning on making an attack on the US, with the help of his friend, Christo. A CIA agent named Agent Morales (Roselyn Sanchez) has been spying on Christo, trying to find the link between him and the terrorist group but before she can actually prove it, she is kidnapped. The Navy Seals are called in to rescue her from captivity, and its up to them to stop Shabal and his jihadists from attacking the United States and causing a major panic. Its a very simple plot, nothing different seen in many action films. But in a way it feels real, and not very hollywood written.

Genre: Its a war film. So expect to see some bloody action scenes, and intense action scenes. The camera is rarely shakey. I'm very impressed how they kept the camera steady during some of the first person shots. Of coarse there will be many times where the camera switches from third person to first person, and it can be annoying to some, but it wasn't to me. The movie does a good job keeping you in the action. And I will say the action and special effects are pretty realistic. I mean there is always hollywood magic but it doesn't feel like its a hollywood made movie. The movie claims they are using real life active duty Navy Seals. Well I don't find it hard to believe. The philosophies, morals, and deep meanings are also prevalent in this film and are very deep.

Overall: One of the best War Films I've seen recently. It was good movie with lots of action scenes, a descent story, and a good cast of actors. I've always appreciated our military protecting us and after watching this film, I appreciate them even more. This movie is a good tribute to the US military.
